Noise stress is real — for dogs and for groomers. We measured dB at 1 meter on 6 professional dryers to find the one that won't rattle the room.
The Alpha measured 76 dB in our tests — a full 8 dB quieter than the K9 II. The brushless DC motor and variable speed dial let you drop airflow (and noise) for small or sensitive dogs without losing drying power on big coats.

Measured at 1 meter, dryer at full speed, no nozzle. Real salon conditions vary.
At 76 dB, the Alpha is the quietest full-power professional dryer we tested. The brushless DC motor is inherently smoother and less harsh-sounding than universal motors. Variable speed means you can drop noise further for sensitive dogs. It doesn't sacrifice power — it still moves enough air for thick double coats.
If absolute quiet is your priority and you mostly do smaller dogs or finishing work, the K-9 Mini line is even quieter. The trade-off is power. It's not enough dryer for a heavy Golden or Husky coat.
At 77 dB, the Shelandy is surprisingly quiet for its price. It's also less powerful and less durable than professional options. Good for home groomers or as a backup, but not a salon workhorse.
